`FUR` YOUR INFORMATION
The majority of the fur I use is from recycled coats and I only work with genuine fur.
The coats must be in good condition and NOT moldy or musty smelling.
There are things to consider when getting a coat remade into various items, such as the age and condition of the coat. Pelts weaken over time therefore they get thin. However, I reinforce all my work to strengthen it before I start to sew. If the coat is considerably damaged, I will contact you prior to starting your order.
When caring for your fur, it should be stored in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight.Cold storage is ideal, however, cedar lined closets or chests work well also. Never keep fur in plastic because it needs to breathe.
To clean fur, it should be done professionally, never by washing or dry cleaning. When drying, never put near any heat source. Shake the snow or dampness off and simply air dry. The fur will fluff again when it is dry by gently shaking and fluffing with your fingers. |
